What do you need to know to start using your griddle?
Using a griddle is as simple as applying a bit of olive oil, preferably. You can spread it with a paper towel or simply with a spatula.
The plate needs to be very hot, so turn it on 10 minutes before adding the food. With a high plate temperature, you’ll achieve excellent searing, retaining all the juices and properties inside, thus respecting the nature of everything you cook on a Brabura Griddle. Once you place the food on the hot griddle, you need to adjust the heat to achieve the desired cooking level.
Before cooking, we advise letting the food come to room temperature, so take everything out of the fridge at least an hour before cooking.
The food should also be dry to prevent sticking, so be sure to dry any fish or vegetables you’ve just washed.
For meats, we recommend adding salt only at the end of cooking to avoid losing juices. However, for vegetables, you can add salt at the beginning.
Brabura suggests not cutting the meat immediately after cooking. Wrap it in aluminum foil for a few minutes to let the cooking pressure release and allow the juices to distribute throughout the meat. This way, the heat will penetrate evenly from the outside to the inside of the piece. Juicy!
